Who the hell are you to be giving this kind of advice, these answers? You've explored the far reaches of the universe and determined beyond a shadow of a doubt that God does not exist, that you are correct? Not bloody likely. Seems to me that the original poster is less caught up in 'himself' than you are. So, uh, yeah. Take your own bloody advice and get over yourself.
While I'm at it, I might add that while God's existence has not been disproved, the usefulness and cathartic value of anonymous confession - what the original poster is doing - has been proved.

Original poster: keep looking. Pray, if that's something that fits your beliefs. The God you seem to believe in likely has a huge plan that isn't immediately apparent. Talk to him, ask him. Talk to your friends, family. Go for some long walks and have conversations with yourself.

Commenter: stop tearing down people. This "tough love" thing you seem to have going really isn't useful. Stop trying to provide answers for things you don't know about. Repetition does not a fact create.

God exists, but only inside you. He's not some guy who sits up there and decides our fate. You are the only one who can do that, and if you choose to sit and whine about life, then that is what you will get out of life. If you choose to get up and get on with your life and make something of it, then that is what you will get. You are your own God. The rest is up to you.

people usually turn to either of two things to help them have a grip on life. one is religion. one is science. whether you choose to believe in god or not is your own choice.
