A lot of the bands I listen to have started hiring "street teams" to do their promotional work. I guess there are a lot of losers with nothing but free time and a desire to verbally fellate their favorite artists at any opportunity who are perfect for this. But give these feebs enough exposure to the artists that they become more than just "mere fans" and they turn into the most condescending, unsufferable pricks in the universe. The throngs of hangers-on who spend all day on the message board fawning over the street team captains doesn't help them gain perspective either. Enjoy the ride, jackasses, because once the tour is over you have to go back to being a mere mortal for a while.
Talk about "Shallow"...
