Pot Head

I am a fairly hard working person. Although I'm always trying to improve in that area. I'm a computer programmer who's currently between jobs.

I have the best wife and two children a guy could want. In six years of marriage we've hardly had a fight. We can't stand to be apart from each other. I'm extremely happy.

I'm a conservative christian who just recently started going to church again after several years away. And although I've had my doubts I think I know now what faith is.

I also smoke pot as much as I want when I have it. Unfortunatly I currently live where there is only ditch weed. I wish it was legal, the world would be a better place. I wish I had some right now, but I don't care that much. Life is OK without it too.

I wish I felt more comfortable about speeking out on the issue. Freedom of speech? Yeah unless you admit to breaking the law. Even a law as bogus as laws against weed. I'm not a US basher though. I think this country is great in many ways. There's no perfect system though right?

Prohibition needs to end now.

Keep on tokin

I recently watched a program about hemp farming. Hemp, although part of the cannabis family, has only trace amounts of THC. If it were legal to grow it here, or if a farmer didn't have to jump through hoops and have the DEA breathing down his back, growing hemp would be a huge boost to the economy. The problem is that the clothing, accessories and car bodies (yes, Henry Ford used hemp as a part of his early models) that could be made from hemp would reduce our need for petroleum-based products. For example, nylon is a petroleum based product. Replace it with hemp, and Big Oil loses some of its profits. Oh, my---we can't have that, can we?

I forgot to add my other conspiracy theory regarding cannabis, the one that goes like this: If cannabis were legal, especially the smokin' stuff, beer, wine and liquor sales would probably drop quite a bit. It would be interesting to see how much money is donated to political parties and candidates by breweries and distilleries, wouldn't it?

Overall, I just can't understand why a plant that could easily grow in your back yard should be illegal. It's like legislating nature.

Oh, yeah...I'm a pothead.

Live your life according to what is best for you. As a lifelong smoker (who is also very productive)I say use your best judgement, as with anything else. Moderation is key and your religious practices can help you to find that balance. Though I don't believe in hiding, I do see value in being discreet. Only a select few know I smoke and that cuts down on much of the worry. I sympathize for the lack of a connection and I hope you find one soon.
