I've been with him for 6 years and he keeps telling people that he's going to propose, but it hasn't happened. I don't want to start over. I'll wait until I get a full time job and set an ultimatum. I hate ultimatums.
Posted by anonymous at January 24, 2006 6:02 PMI doubt that he like ultimatums any more than you do, so perhaps that's not such a good idea. If you love and want to marry the guy, why don't you bring the subject up with him? It's the 21st century, baby, and there is no law that says you can't be the one to propose.
Posted by: at January 25, 2006 10:44 AMOh that's been jokingly said many times.
"Hey hon? You know I'm gonna propose to *you* right?"
"Hell no you aren't!" (in a joking way of course)
He told me the other day not to worry about it (we've discussed this many times and he does talk about us in future tense), but seriously I'm gearing up for "The Talk." He tells friends he's going to do it, then backs out. Of course I don't want to set an ultimatum, but I feel I'm being played for a fool sometimes by just sitting and waiting on him.
Bleh.
