I don't know about weblogs anymore. I don't know how I feel about people reading what I've written. I feel limited in writing because I know who is going to read it. If I censor what I write to make it all right for everyone, there's nothing left--just pointlessness.
Complaining is good for me sometimes but being a continuous loudmouth never suited me. Even though I like to write a lot, having a weblog that I update as often as the one I have is extremely out of character for me. Maybe it's good to be out of character because my character kind of sucks, but I don't know--the blog makes me feel kind of whiney.
I've been looking at my writing lately, and it is obvious that all I can think of is romance. I have not been successful in finding a satisfactory boyfriend and my writing reflects that. I hate how the love-interest character always manages to take over the whole damn story. Whenever I write.
There are plenty of books that aren't about kids falling in love. How do they do it? The only stories I write without strong love interests die. The ones with them die because I'm sick of the stupid scheme.
I don't want to get married. But I want a boyfriend so I at least know what it's like to be in love--completely in love--returned love--and I want it now. It's not working and it's taking over my mind. It's not working and it's taking over my mind. I'm a victim, and I hate it.
Posted by anonymous at April 22, 2006 9:26 PMYou're a victim---of what, or whom? Yourself, maybe?
And how do you define a "satisfactory" boyfriend? That sounds a bit calculating and cold to me.
And believe me, Veruka Salt, just because you want love and you want it NOW doesn't mean it's supposed to happen just that way. Quit working at it so hard; relax and let love find you instead of demanding it.
