My side HURTS!!!! I hate my kidney infection!!! I just want to sleep and throw up ALL the time.....I don't care if I ever eat AGAIN I'm soooo sick!! And what makes everything worse is I just started a new job so I can't take off work. I went to the Dr. and she gave me a script for Bactrum but the problem is I'm allergic to a medicine and I don't know the name of it. I took it about a year and a half for the same problem and the Dr. that gave me that script I lost the phone number and I only know the Dr's name, not the clinic she is at. So I could very easily take this Bactrum and have my tongue start swelling up and stuff. Sorry, I just wanted to vent about how sick I am.

You should be able to check with the pharmacy where you got the original prescription filled (the one you were allergic to) to get an idea whether your current meds will cause an allergic reaction. But you can't just not take your medicine and let your kidney infection go untreated. I'm sure your new boss doesn't appreciate you running off to the bathroom to puke all the time, not to mention that your need to sleep is sure to affect your concentration and job performance.

This blog is most clearly within the rules that your supposed best friend Michael has set. This person has a problem, and simply wanted to let it out.
I suggest you fuck off pretty quickly, or else contribute something of value to this person's dilemma. I think you are just plain RUDE RUDE RUDE.

OP: The above commenter's suggestion is a good one. I do suggest calling the pharmacy where you had the original prescription filled. You could always call 411 to get the number, or try yellowpages.com. If and when you do manage to find the place, the pharmacist on staff will be able to tell you what drug you took and what percent possibility there is of you being allergic to the current one. (Although perhaps you've had a reaction already?)
If you are allergic, call the pharmacy that filled the Bactrim for you and let them know what's happened. They are able to call your doctor to change the medication to something in another class that will not make your tongue swell.
Good Luck!
Posted by: N at February 9, 2007 9:15 AMAs with any infection you should drink plenty of fluids. Stay away from dairy products. Filtered pure water and plenty of it is good. Cranberry(100% Pure not cranberry cocktail) juice is good for helping urinary tract and kidney infections. If you drink alcohol discontinue your consumption until your infection is gone. Ginger ale and/or ginger capsules can help with your upset stomach.
Commenters #4&6 have offered some good advice that I would follow if I were you. If I lived close I would come over and cook up some of Master Chef Vapor's extra special chicken broth, guaranteed to make you feel better.
Get well soon,

I would suggests Cranberry Juice as well. However, to shorten the infections time you will need an antibiotic. Your choices my friend are unfortunately few. Perhaps these comments will offer relief. I wish you well!
