Why does no one care about North Korea?

North Korea has all these concentration camps. They murder and rape and torture the inmates they have. They arrest anyone they suspect of being a traitor, and then they arrest that person's spouse, children, and parents. And then they force them to work, torture them for fun, and/or experiment on them. These experiments usually result in suffering and/or death. Look it up, it's true. They also persecute many religious groups, if not all of them. Now that people care kind of about Africa, what about this? I guess it's just more polite to completely ignore the unimaginable suffering of other people as long as they live sufficiently far away from us.

I think that people who belong to 1st world countries are lazy in general. Selfish too. I'm like that too, and I know I'm being hippocritical. I'm probably just gonna go back to thinking about my own life after posting this, and I probably wont do another thing about this horrible situation. I just hope someone with a bigger motivation or maybe just a better person than me will see this and maybe do some research, and change something.

To the first commenter! I have finally realized now that the Iraq war is all about oil as I just filled up my car and paid .98 cents per gallon. Yes, Iraq is about oil!
People like you need to follow the other Lemmings and fling yourself off a cliff and help us all out!

Yeah? The you tell me: why are we in a country whose people have been killing each other for centuries over religion and will continue to do so and have no WMD, and not in a country that has already tested nuclear weapons?

I don't know whether I'm a lemming or not, but it is clear to me that you are a sheep.

And where the heck is gas selling for $.98 a gallon?

Posted by: at September 4, 2007 8:10 PM

Yeah what the hell I paid $3.01 today!!

Sometimes convenience stores with gas pumps will have a promotion where they will sell gas at a ridiculously low price (like $.98 per gallon) for a couple of hours just to get people into the store.

The commenter was making a point to you idiots. Gas IS NOT .98 cents per gallon. Rather they are saying, tongue in cheek, that if the war were about oil gas would be less expensive.
By the way, the commenter who made comments about WMD and Iraq not having any. Please tell the Kurds that as I'm sure they are wondering just what Saddam used to wipe out one of their villages. It was gas and that is a WMD. Or did you forget?

Key words "was gas" and "Saddam".
The gas is gone and Saddam is dead.
And since you are such an expert on this subject, could you tell us what type of gas that was used on that Kurdish village.
Iran has nukes but not much oil. Is that why nothing is being done about their WMDs? N Korea has nukes also.
#7, can you explain in a nonpartisan example why the Republican President Bush has not dealt with these countries. Please do this now or we will have to assume that you are the idiot.
