I swear the last time I cleaned my room I saw the purple gameboy under my bed and left it there because I would be able to find it easily (Miss N is a bit of a pack rat). Well I kept thinking about playing pokemon after reading this post, especially since I've gotten bored of animal crossing, so I went to get it and --It's gone!!!
I'm not really tearing my room apart for it because it should be there. I'll just have to think hard of what I could have done with it.
Sigh. Life would be so much easier if I wasn't such a slob.

Oh, I found the gameboy. It was really bothering me, plus I'd left my DS in my mom's vehicle, so I got up off my arse and found it. Pokemon Red, the classic!!! I have yellow too, but prefer the red. Back in the days when there were 150 pokemon only. And it was totally impossible to catch em all.
I think i've spent a total of 4 hours last night and today training my stupid lvl 20 birds and rodents.
And also, I wish I could post something new. Holiday shopping gives me serious anxiety, and i wasn't even the one spending the money. Where's my old friend vicodin? lol

Haha nice, it's good to find time to just lay back and play Pokemon red in this season. Awesomeness, which starter did you choose, and what pokemon do you have now?
And yeah, I'm thankfully done with shopping and wrapping. It was amazing how many HORDES of people were out there when I was shopping.
It's really annoying how people ruin stuff like this site.

I always choose squirtle. I have a weird emotional attachment to squirtle. Now everybody is up in the 25's. Let's see theres...raticate, farfetch'd, clefairy, pikachu, squirtle, and switching back and forth between oddish and fearow.
Gahh yeah my dad dragged me out shopping with him last night and we were out past 11. He made me make all the decisions too, and I'm....not so good at that. But we are getting a really awesome tv!! (yep, we're gonna be douchebags with a flat panel HD). Walmart was insanity, I don't know why he made me do that.
But, I've survived, even in 3 feet of snow, and once I finish cleaning all the carpets for tomorrow I can have some goood food.

Previous commenters: absolutely. I would never own a thin TV/monitor either. If I needed a new TV/monitor because one died or I needed an additional unit, I would try to find a good used CRT (picture tube) screen rather than buy that thin garbage. Thin panel TVs and monitors are the biggest scam since dick enlargement pills.

And seeing as we can't find another big honking tv to replace our current one (the sound is already going out) i picked a nice toshiba. i liked a plasma one, but the guy said it doesn't look good at all if there's a lot of light in the room and my house is all windows. this is what's available these days, so this is what we got.

You'd be better off paying to have the sound on your old picture tube TV fixed (unless its a projection set, the old bulky projection sets looked like crap too.) But assuming its 36 inches or less (non-projection) and has a good picture, much better to get it fixed, even if it costs as much as a new LCD piece of shit. Previous commenters are all correct. When it comes to TVs, if its not fat, it's crap.

I looked at it from every angle and it still looks the same as from the front, just on an angle (duh). Maybe your friend has a cheap one. Haven't had time for dvd's yet but our basic cable looks absolutely no different from the old tv and the HD channels are brilliant. The bright window light doesn't even glare as it did on the old tv.
Besides, it's not like we sit in front of the tv all dag gone day. Sheesh. You are fine with your tv, and I am fine with mine kay?
Posted by N at December 25, 2008 8:37 PMThen either your old TV was of low quality too (or worn), your old TV was a projection model (they look like crap), your cable channels are of unusually poor quality, you didn't wear your glasses, you need glasses, or you just don't care about or notice picture quality.
Some of that LCD junk fades when viewed from the top (standing in front of it) or the bottom (TV mounted high) instead of the common right to left fading.

In most cases, it's a night and day difference, with the CRT kicking the shit out of the LCD. In the least sucky LCDs, the difference is less obvious but still there.

Ya I was just going to tell you that it's whatever, maybe you're right maybe you're not. But! I watched Harry Potter on the new tube last night and was thoroughly impressed!! It was absolutely brilliant, a definite next best to seeing it in theater. Now my little sister and I are watching Kung Fu Panda and it. is. awesome. I think the extra ten inches makes a huge difference (ha ha ha yeah i know) but it's just sooo clear and we're not even watching in HD, and it's on an old dvd player to boot.
I am totally convinced now that this LCD tv completely exceeds our expectations for the kind of watching we do.

Or maybe you've convinced yourself this TV must be better just cause you are happy to be trendy. (The emperor has no clothes type thing.) The placebo effect can be powerful.
BTW, if your new TV is a widescreen (rectangular)shape and your old one was the non-widescreen (nearly square) shape, you can't directly compare size, as these things are measured diagonally. (For example, a 42 inch widescreen is just a wider version of 35 inch non-widescreen, approximately.). So an extra 10 inches isn't very much at all. And stretching a non-widescreen (squarish) pic out to fill the whole widescreen makes it out of porportion, whick looks BAD.

I think he's probably going to weigh at least 8 pounds. The father has come a long way, he's stepped it up and is trying very hard to be back from Afghanistan for the birth. They have a name picked out, but I'm not allowed to tell ;)
